Anthony Ombara

Anthony Ombara is a Senior Advisor, Kenya, for the Resilience Action Network Africa (RANA), where he champions early action over response, believing that ‘resilience is continuity with the courage to renew’. He is a humanitarian policy and advocacy professional with over two decades of experience advancing resilience, health security, and systems transformation across Africa. His work bridges pandemic preparedness, climate resilience, and local systems strengthening, with a focus on empowering civil society and communities to anticipate and adapt to crises. He has led multi-country initiatives advancing early action, equitable financing, and community-centered preparedness across Sub-Saharan Africa and South East Asia. His leadership spans engagements with several regional civil society coalitions, where he facilitated partnerships between governments, multilateral institutions, and grassroots organisations. In his previous role with the Gavi CSO Constituency, Anthony contributed to the Pandemic Fund’s CSO engagement process, representing perspectives from the Global South and advocating for stronger inclusion of African voices in global health governance.
