Rani (Resilience Action Network International) is seeking an experienced policy lead with understanding of the biosecurity policy environment at national, EU, or the international level.
The emergence of new technologies presents huge societal opportunity – but also some challenges. There is now an exciting window of opportunity to contribute to the evolving landscape by working out how to update existing policymaking apparatus to make sure it is fit-for-purpose for today’s – and future challenges. Rani is working with partners to contribute to some of the biggest threats society is facing – how to keep safe in the era of easily accessible emerging technologies.
Candidates for the Policy Lead, Biosecurity, EU role should have a deep understanding of policy and research on the challenges and opportunities related to emerging technologies, particularly nucleic acid synthesis screening, AI, and the intersection between them. The ideal candidate will bring technical knowledge of biosecurity risk and have the ability to translate complex issues into understandable policy goals, and be able to work with a broad spectrum of partners across the biosecurity landscape.
