Position Summary
Support rani’s (Resilience Action Network International) growing Brussels team. We are seeking an experienced AI consultant to identify, tailor and embed AI tools, systems, and ethical use policies to strengthen our communications, intelligence, logistics, data analysis, and advocacy work, including with partners. The consultant will design workflows and pilot solutions to enable the sharing of AI‑powered updates and actionable products with the rani teams and close partners.
Scope of Work
- Advise on how to optimise workflows across a new team and systems build and identify priority use cases for AI
- Assess data sources and communications needs across teams
- Define governance, risk mitigation, and ethical use policies for AI in communications and advocacy
- Recommend and prioritise AI tools, platforms and partner models (off‑the‑shelf, custom, and partnership options) appropriate for EU context and regulatory requirements including implementation considerations, cost estimates, and suppliers
- Design and prototype workflows to automate routine tasks (contact tracking, information search, monitoring, reporting) and to surface actionable intelligence
- Develop integration and communication plan for selected AI tools that builds trust covering: data flows, access controls, security, and privacy safeguards (GDPR-compliant)
- Produce standardised templates, playbooks, and training materials, and conduct capacity-building for staff adoption
- Run pilot(s) with measurable performance indicators; iterate based on feedback
- Consult on pathways to share AI-powered insights publicly (bulletins, dashboards, syndicated feeds)
Desired Qualifications & Competencies
- Experience deploying AI/ML tools in civil society, communications, policy, humanitarian, security, or related sectors
- Proven track record of translating AI capabilities into operational workflows and measurable time/productivity gains
- Strong technical literacy with generative AI, NLP (Natural Language Processing), analytics platforms, data pipelines, and APIs (Application Programming Interface); ability to evaluate vendors
- Demonstrable experience with data governance, privacy (GDPR), and security best practices
- Experience designing and running pilots, training non-technical teams, and producing implementation and communication roadmaps
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills; able to convene and synthesise input across teams and partners
- Prior experience building public-facing insight products (dashboards, newsletters, syndicated data feeds)
- Familiarity with open-source toolchains and ethical AI assessment frameworks
